June 1, 2008: Celebration of Wine
Barreto Cellars wines will be featured along with over 100 other Central California wineries and 40 restaurants at the Celebration of Wine.  It is held on the banks of the San Joaquin River under magnificent sycamore trees at Rancho Vista del Rio in Madera, CA.  This is a fundraiser for the Viticulture and Enology Department at CSUF where Michael started his winemaking career, and where Michael and Joey met. July 12-13, 2008:  The LA Wine Festival
Last year it was on the Queen Mary, but this year it has moved to the historic Raleigh Studios on Melrose Avenue in the heart of Hollywood.  You will have the opportunity to sample our fine wines alongside many other wineries as well as tequilas from Mexico.  This pouring also features several speakers both days, a wine charity dinner, and a comparative wine tasting conducted by Georg Riedel of Riedel Wine glasses. August 8-9, 2008:  TAPAS
We are so excited about this!  TAPAS (Tempranillo Advocates Producers and Amigos Society) will be hosting a Tempranillo pouring at COPIA in Napa.  TAPAS is a fairly new group of winemakers that formed to promote Tempranillo and other wines and wine styles native to the Iberian Peninsula.  Michael is one of the founding members. COPIA calls itself "The American Center for Wine, Food & the Arts” and has excellent food, beautiful gardens, and changing art exhibitions.  If you can attend, this will be well worth it.  Visit www.tapasociety.org and www.COPIA.org for more information.

August 24, 2008:  The Family Winemakers Wine Pouring
This is always a fun event.  It is from noon until 4:00 at the Fort Mason Center on the water in San Francisco. Family Winemakers is an organization that was founded in 1991 "to give voice and presence to small, family wineries..." It is a great opportunity to taste wines from these small wineries, many without tasting rooms.  For more information and/or tickets, visit www.familywinemakers.org.
